The Development of PBL-Based Education Program for Children using Photographic Records in Presidential Archives

국문 초록

본 연구는 해외 기록 관리기관과 유사 문화자원기관이 기관의 지속가능한 발전을 위해 교육을 강조하고 있는 반면 대통령기록관은 교육에 대해 소홀하고 있다는 문제의식에서 출발하여 대통령기록관에서 실행 가능한 체계적인 교육프로그램을 개발을 목표로 진행되었다. 체계적인 교육프로그램 개발을 위하여 다양한 교육이론 중 보존기록관(Archives)과 공통적인 목적을 가진 박물관의 교육에서 대두되고 있는 구성주의 인식론을 토대로 한 PBL(Problem Based Learning, 문제기반학습) 학습이론에 주목하였고, 이를 적용하여 대통령기록관의 사진기록물을 활용한 어린이 대상 PBL기반 교육프로그램을 개발하였다.

본 교육프로그램은 기록 및 보존기록관에 대한 이해와 기록물을 통해 학습자가 흥미를 갖게 하는 것을 목적으로, 대통령 사진기록물을 활용하여 기록과 기록관에 대한 이해를 목표로 삼고 있으며, 프로그램의 제목을 ‘기록으로 전시하다. 전시로 기록되다.’로 하여 기록의 참된 의미를 구현하고자 하였다. 프로그램은 ‘도입－전개－정리’라는 단계로 구성되었으며, 학습과정은 학습자가 주체가 되어 문제를 해결하는데 초점을 뒀으며 학습자의 눈으로 사진 기록물을 직접 관찰하고 사진 속 상황을 읽어나가는 탐구과정을 거쳐 기록물을 이해하도록 하였다. 전개의 수집, 정리, 기술, 전시 제안 활동은 모둠별로 이루어지며, 제시된 주제에 맞춰 전시물을 수집하고 기술, 전시하는 과정은 학습자 개개인의 활동이지만, 하나의 주제로 전시물을 선정하고 전시방향을 설정하여 하나의 결과물을 낸다는 점에서 협력활동이 이루어지도록 구성하였다.

영문 초록

Having a critical mind that while overseas archives and records administration agency and similar cultural resources management body emphasize education for sustainable growth, Presidential Archives has poorly handled education, this study has attempted to develop a systematic education program which can be used in the Presidential Archives. For this, this study has concentrated on constructive epistemology and Problem-based Learning (PBL) theory which has emerged in the education of museum with archives and common purposes among diverse educational theories. This, a PBL education program targeting children has been developed using the photographic records in the Presidential Archives.

This education program was aimed to make learns get more interested through a better understanding of records and archives. With a goal of understanding records and archives using the presidential photographic records, therefore, this study has tried to realize the true meaning of records with the title of the program as ‘Exhibit with records, records through exhibition.’ The program was structured in three stages; introduction, development and consolidation. The learning course focused on learner-led problem-solving. In other words, it was designed to help learners observe photographic records in person and figure out the circumstances. The development collection, sorting, description, exhibition and proposal are carried out by group. It is an each learner’s job to collect, describe and exhibit the materials according to the topic. However, it was structured to promote collaborative activities in that the materials to be exhibited are selected under a single topic, and the exhibition direction is set to create a single result.
