 A Study on the Development of NIE-based Education Program using Presidential Archives

국문 초록
  본 연구에서는 NIE(Newspaper In Education)를 기반으로 대통령기록물을 활용하여, 사회과 교수 ? 학습을 위한 교육프로그램을 개발 하고자 한다. 매일 급변하는 현실을 반영하는 신문과 상징적이고 중요한 정보를 제공하는 대통령기록관을 접목하여 교과서와 현실사회를 연계 하고 정보화 사회에 필수적인 정보 처리 능력 함양을 위한 기회를 제공할 수 있다. 또한 신문의 이해와 대통령기록관의 서치 등 학습자가 능동 적으로 수업에 참여하여 스스로 학습 과정을 구성해 나가는 자기 주도적 학습으로 학생들은 더욱 풍부한 시각과 다양한 경험을 하게 된다. 이러한 과정으로 학생들은 스스로 사회 참여 의식을 기르며 민주 시민으로서의 사회 참여와 공동체 의식을 신장할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록
  This study aims to develop NIE(Newspaper in Education)-based education program that utilize presidential archives for teaching and learning social studies. Integration of newspapers, which reflect the rapidly changing reality, and presidential archives, which provide symbolic and important information, connects textbook and real society. In addition, it provides an opportunity for one to cultivate the information literacy, which has become a necessity in information society. Furthermore, students experience a much wider perspective and diversity with self-directed learning where a student designs a study course on his own by actively participating in learning, searching presidential archives and studying newspapers. Through this process, students develop awareness of social participation on their own, which in turn increases their sense of community and social participation as democratic citizens.
